About Mental Health Society
We currently don't have anyone running this society, but if you are interested in starting it up again, please get in touch with [email protected]
Hello! We're the new Mental Health Awareness Society team here at Hull University. Our aims as a new society are to create a safe non-judgemental environment, especially within our support groups which are run by our partnering project Friends of Joshua's Light Foundation. If we procure enough funding, we hope to host a counsellor for one or two days a week who will be situated in the university. We want to create an atmosphere where needing help is not stigmatised, but encouraged, and seeking help is seen as the strength it is. We're here to give you as much help as we can! Our other main project we are starting is to finance student's first session of therapy and transport to get there and back. We hope this will encourage students to seek help when needed!
Committee
All of our clubs and societies are run by a committee.
A committee is a team of people that lead, organise and publicise a group within your Students’ Union.
It can be really rewarding as well as being a great way to gain experience and invaluable skills for your future career.
