Affiliated to the World Jujitsu Federation, the Hull University Jujitsu Club is led by Sensei Helen Horrobin and Sensei Neil Gordon to train people of all levels of ability. It is a great way to increase fitness and confidence and also learn how to defend yourself.
New members are very welcome and we try to cater to different interests, from basic self-defence technique to Kobudo (traditional Japanese weapons training). Newcomers are welcome to training throughout the academic year (and beyond), not just at the beginning.
Lessons mostly include locks, throws and striking with kicks and punches. We recommend loose fitting clothing but we usually train in bare feet so trainers are not essential.

A committee is a team of people that lead, organise and publicise a group within your Students’ Union.
It can be really rewarding as well as being a great way to gain experience and invaluable skills for your future career.
