About Raising and Giving
RAG: stands for ‘Raising and Giving’ – RAG is the Union’s resident fundraising team, assisting student groups across the university with fundraising events and organising our own such as RAG week and the Christmas fair. As a stand-alone committee we have the ability to change lives by supporting charities and raising money towards good causes. Also by taking part in our challenges there is the opportunity to raise money while challenging yourself with events like the three peaks challenge or climbing to Everest base camp.
You can join in by becoming a volunteer or even a challenge coordinator and push yourself further. If you want to make a difference contact [email protected] and get involved.
Why not organise an inter-AU sports match, take part in a sponsored run or think up your own even? It’s great fun, a fantastic opportunity for team building and all for a worthy cause.
You could hold a showcase to display your society’s special talents, plan a flashmob at Tower, or hold a bake sale, the possibilities are endless! It’ll raise awareness of your society and attract potential members, as well as raising loads of money for charity.
All of our clubs and societies are run by a committee.
A committee is a team of people that lead, organise and publicise a group within your Students’ Union.
It can be really rewarding as well as being a great way to gain experience and invaluable skills for your future career.
