At Hull University Union all student-led activities are run by student executive committees, who are dedicated volunteers.
Being involved in running a student society or sports team gives you the opportunity to take on a role of importance, set the vision and direction for a team, motivate others and use creativity in problem solving. This opportunity will help you stand out from the crowd to potential employers. By getting real life experience behind your academic studies you’re showing you can think for yourself and organise a team – you’re putting yourself ahead.
As well as expanding your graduate prospects, you’ll personally benefit immensely by leading a team or society. You’ll potentially change not only your own student experience, but your fellow students as well.
Don’t worry if you feel like you don’t know where to start – we’ll give you a wide range of support and training to help you run the best society/sports team possible.
