Rich in ancient history, romantic ambience and fun activities, York is the perfect day trip destination to get away and see something new. Renowned for its exquisite architecture, tangle of quaint cobbled streets, iconic York Minster and wealth of visitor attractions, York is a flourishing city, with great shopping opportunities and a host of delicious places to eat. Don’t forget to have a ramble in the shambles, the inspiration for Harry Potter’s ‘Diagon Alley’!.
Delve into the city's vibrant café culture, take time out to enjoy some of the country's most talented street entertainers or simply watch the world go by while sipping a drink by the river.
Visitors to York can enjoy hundreds of attractions, museums, historic buildings, tours, shops, restaurants and bars within the compact walled city.
Suggestions of things to do include York Minster, National Railways Museum, York Dungeons, Clifford’s Tower, York Castle Museum, Henry VII Experience at Micklegate Bar, the York Chocolate Experience, Yorkshire Museum, York has excellent shopping and eating. Look on Trip Advisor or individual attraction websites for more information. All activities in York may incur an additional charge and are to be organised by the student as an individual.

You could also use the hop on and hop off City Sightseeing bus which is a great way to get around York. Find out prices and locations here
Tickets for this trip will go on sale on Thursday 15th August until they sell out or on Friday 20th September at 3pm. Please book your place for this event online 24/7 or through HUU Reception Mon – Fri between 10am-4pm.
Return coach transport is provided for this event. Please meet at HUU reception by no later than 9.45am. The coach will leave at 10am promply and cannot wait for latecomers. Returning - the coach will leave York at 5pm promply, please arrive at the coach from 4.45pm. The coach cannot wait for latecomers.
