Beach Clean & A Day at Bridlington

Join your Union for a day at the seaside! GIAG has teamed up with HUSSO Forces of Nature Project and Yorkshire Wildlife Trust to empower our students to actively make a change and help protect our environment. It is necessary to keep our beaches clean if we hope to keep our oceans clean. When the tides rise, they collect items on the beach and take the items out when the water lowers - animals do not know that a shiny sweet wrapper is not meant to be eaten and can easily be mistaken as a fish or a piece of kelp.
We'll be spending the morning ensuring our beach area is free from litter. After which we'll have free time to eat so you can bring a pack up or pop and get some fish and chips and then you'll have some free time to enjoy the beach, go play in the amusements, enjoy a doughnut, buy some fudge, go on a ride etc! We'll bring all of the equipment needed to take part in the clean, just ensure you bring a drink, money for lunch or bring a pack up and clothing for all weathers!
All equipment will be provided to take part including grabs, bags and gloves. Interested in joining a volunteering opportunity like the Forces of Nature Project? or want to find out more about what other husso opportunities are out there? Take a look here. There are also other external volunteering opportunities which you can view here.
