HUSU Awards 2021
We're really proud to announce the shortlisted candidates for this year's HUSU Awards! Well done to everyone who was nominated and congratulations to all those who have been shortlisted.
We are also excited to say that we will be announcing the winners live (and in-person!) on Friday 25th June from 11.30am - 2.30pm. Keep an eye out for more details to come.
Following the awards afternoon, on June 25th, Hull University Students' Union and the University of Hull are teaming up to bring you a celebration of our student communities for FestivHull, a garden party like no other! And so, as an extra celebration of your hard work, we are giving all those shortlisted a free ticket.

AU Club of the Year
This award recognises the commitment of one of our Athletic Union teams to Hull University Students' Union and their members.
Hull University Students' Union Award
Awarded to the volunteer or group who has delivered an outstanding campaign or project, or who has made a significant contribution through volunteering within the organisation, which has enhanced Hull University Students' Union, contributed to improving the student experience and demonstrated consistent dedication.
Society of the Year
This award recognises the commitment of one of our Societies to Hull University Students' Union and their members.
This award celebrates the commitment of an individual volunteer or group that has supported, developed and enhanced the students' education experience.
The Julie Watson Memorial Award
Awarded to the volunteer or group who has made the biggest positive impact on the development of other students through Hull University Students' Union activity. This award is dedicated to the memory of Julie Watson, former Director of Membership Services and HR. In almost ten years of service with Hull University Students' Union, she made an enormous contribution to the development of the organisation and the staff who work here.
"Julie loved to develop our staff and see them improve. Many of our staff are doing jobs they would never have believed themselves capable of without Julie's constant encouragement. As a result everyone thought the world of her and this was repaid through the commitment she inspired in providing excellent service to our student members over a wide range of activities."
This is awarded to the individual or group that has gone above and beyond in understanding and promoting inclusivity and diversity.
This award recognises an individual volunteer or group's dedication to creating positive environmental changes to support Hull University Students' Union's declaration of a Climate Emergency.
The John Franks Memorial Award
Awarded to the volunteer or group who have made an outstanding overall contribution to the life of students at the University of Hull. The John Franks' Award is dedicated to the memory of John Franks, Head of the University Careers service for over 30 years. He was a great supporter of Hull University Students' Union and was responsible for personally helping thousands of Hull students and graduates with their careers.
The Derek Foster Student Volunteering Award
Awarded to the Student Led Volunteering Project or project member who has made an exceptional contribution to students and the local community throughout the year. The winner will receive the annual Derek Forster Bursary prize of £500 to further their career working in the area of social change and community development.
How to claim your free ticket
To claim your free ticket you must fill in this form. You must have a registered account with FIXR PRIOR to completing this form. You will then be gifted a ticket for FestivHull your FIXR account. Please make sure the email on the form matches your FIXR account.
For an individual shortlist - You can claim a ticket for yourself and up to one guest per awards event (awards events classed as Society Awards, Trophy Pres and HUSU Awards).
For a group shortlist - You can claim 3 tickets for your group per awards event (awards events classed as Society Awards, Trophy Pres and HUSU Awards). Ideally for your President, Treasurer and Secretary but the choice is down to the President.
If you were shortlisted for more than one award - please note you'll only be able to claim once per individual/group for each awards event. i.e. you can claim 3 tickets for a Society Awards shortlist and for a HUSU Awards shortlist - but not for 3 shortlists in HUSU Awards.
If you are a winner from 2020, you will also be offered a ticket.
