"We know many of you will be distressed or saddened by the recent events in Afghanistan, especially those concerned for friends or loved ones.
Here at HUSU, we want you to know that we are here for you and want to offer support in any way that we can. We are proud of our wide and diverse student population and are thankful for Hull’s commitment to welcoming those fleeing conflict and hardship.
We encourage you to write to your local MP with your thoughts and for any student who needs support at the moment, we’ve listed some useful resources below."

Student Space also offers student one-to-one support for whatever challenge you are facing via phone, email, text, and webchat.
Togetherall is an award-winning online service designed to help people get support, take control, and feel better. It is an online safe space to talk, share and gain support, 24/7. There are short courses and articles to engage with and read.
There are support resources on Hull and East Yorkshire Mind and Let’s Talk, and a NHS library of mental health apps and the NHS ‘Where to get urgent help for mental health’ website useful.
The Samaritans offer a place to talk and work through things for people in crisis and can be contacted on 116 123 from anywhere in the UK.
Shout is the UK’s first 24/7 text service, free on all major networks, for anyone who is struggling to cope, anywhere in the UK. It can provide immediate support and help, regardless of location.
