The Education Zone has some vacant roles which could be perfect for you. See below for a note from Isobel.

 

"It’s the new year and the Education Zone have some new and exciting roles for you to get involved in.

 

We are a dynamic and enthusiastic team, working towards improving the academic experience for the students we represent. 

 

·         Are you part of the Faculty of Arts, Cultures and Education? If so, we have a role for you.

 

         ·         Are you a HYMS student who would like to get more involved in Hull University Union?

 

·         A Foundation student who would like to improve the experience for your fellow students, and those coming after you?

 

·         Do you study part-time? Would you like to see part-time students better represented, so issues you experience can be           improved?

 

·        Maybe, you are a Postgraduate Taught student who wants to enhance the experience for Postgraduate Taught students at this University? Become part of our Working Group with the University.

 

·         Finally, maybe you would like to see students represented better and would like to question and challenge the Union over academic decisions?

 

As you can see, the Education Zone is expanding in order to better represent you.

Roles Available

 

·         FACE Faculty Rep Role  

 

The Faculty of Arts, Culture and Education has a vacancy! Faculty Reps represent students at Faculty level and work closely with subject reps and the President of Education. They also work closely with senior staff in the University and have a seat at Union Council, enabling them to have a say in governance and policy at the students' union. The role also requires that you support, inform and direct Subject Reps and Course Reps. Could this be you? Apply for this role directly, here. 

 

·         HYMS Part-Time Officer

 

The Hull York Medical School (HYMS) Student Officer offers support and advice and aims to foster and develop a community for HYMS students at the University of Hull and Hull University Union through a diverse range of activities. Increase HYMS engagement with Hull University Union's activities. Want more done to help HYMS students? Help us to help you. 

 

·         Foundation PTO 

 

The Foundation Officer offers support and advice and aims to foster and develop a community for Foundation students at the University of Hull and Hull University Union through a diverse range of activities.

 

·         Part-Time PTO 

 

The Part-time Students Officer offers support and advice and aims to foster and develop a community for part-time students at the University of Hull and Hull University Union through a diverse range of activities. This role is adaptable with it being focused on part-time, e.g. phone in or Skype. 

 

·         Postgraduate Taught Enhancement Rep 

 

The Postgraduate Taught Enhancement Rep offers support and advice and aims to foster and develop a community for postgraduate students at the University of Hull and Hull University Union. We know there needs to be more done for Postgrad students, so help us get this right. This role is specifically for the Faculty of Health Sciences, however I'm always keen to register interest - so please email me if you're intersted in any way. 

 

·         Councillor of Scrutiny 

 

The aim of the role is to hold elected Presidents and Part-time Officers to account and support the zones (Governance, Education, Welfare & Community, Activities and Sport) with their projects and campaigns.

 

We meet every two weeks to discuss topical issues, as well as update on our own objectives. We're very flexible and are happy for reps to use Skype, phone in or use our Facebook group/chat. In this role you will also be part of Union Council, which takes place once a month - this is one of the highest bodies at the Union in which you will have full voting rights.
*Please note Postgraduate Enhancement Reps do not get full voting rights.
