The past couple of weeks have been hectic! On top of the usual emails, messages and day-to-day campaigns, I’ve been working on a petition to increase the amount of printing credits that students receive from the university.
For 12 days, my printing petition was live. During this time, we gathered signatures at my Halloween themed chocolate and chat event, got involved with RAG week and took to campus with my trusty iPad!
At the end of the 12 days, we ended up with 1143 signatures! A great result that shows this is something the university should take seriously.
I’ve combined the petition with some data I’ve gathered and personal testimonials from yourselves and put together a proposal which I have sent to our Deputy Vice-Chancellor who is taking it to the University Leadership Team for approval, questions and comments.
All we can do now is patiently wait, hopefully, the University will see what an issue this is for students and be compelled to do something about it. Thank you to everyone who signed and helped me share this far and wide, it really is appreciated.
It’s now time to get back to a bit of normality and try and catch up on all those emails and messages I momentarily put to one side to go out petitioning! All that is left to say is, watch this space! Hopefully, we will get an answer from the University soon and in the meantime, check out the proposal for yourself and see what I have sent directly to the university.
