The full list of winners for the 2019 Student-Led Teaching and Support Awards has been announced.

 

The eighth annual Hull University Union Student-Led Teaching & Support Awards was held at Asylum, Hull University Union on 9th April.

The evening offered students the opportunity to recognise and celebrate excellence in teaching and support at the University in categories such as Innovative Teaching, Inspiring Teaching and Best Module. A total of 483 nominations were submitted by students.

The awards were organised by the Union’s Education Zone and hosted by Hull University Union President of Education, Isobel Hall.

Isobel said: “The Student-Led Teaching and Support Awards was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate staff here at Hull. Over 400 student nominations submitted highlights the excellence of staff on campus, and our students’ desire to recognise it. The awards showed the partnership between Hull University Union and the University at its best. Congratulations to all those who were shortlisted, or won awards, and thank you to our students for your nominations.”

Hifzah Mahmood is a second year Chemistry student who also nominated members of staff, was involved in shortlisting and planning the event.

Hifzah said: "The student-led teaching awards ceremony is a fabulous evening as it celebrates the exceptional staff and students we have at our university. It is an important event as it commends the special people who go above and beyond for the students. It gives them the recognition they deserve of the brilliant work they do."
