Isobel Hall is elected as your President of Education, leading the Education Zone, it's her job to lobby the University on your behalf to ensure you get the best out of your academic experience.
From the mythical land of the Midlands, I am now well-seasoned in the Hull way of life! For three years, Piper Mondays and Wednesday socials were a must, and chips without chip spice is a thing of the past. From day one I threw myself into university life, joining the Athletic Union with the Netball League and finding a whole new family of friends.
From there my confidence only grew and I found myself involved in campaigning during HUU elections giving my first taste of student union politics! I successfully won the elected position of School of Arts Representative for English and I loved being able to make a difference to the people around me, from starting initiatives such as Peer Mentoring schemes to launching my very own campaign with the first ever Life and Literature Festival. I fought for students to have better study space, a degree-plus week and more varied and relevant careers events - we did it!
Being involved in all aspects of University life, from sporting, to working in Hull University Union as part of the Student Voice team, to being a Student Representative, becoming your President of Education was a natural progression. I wanted to affect change in a bigger and better way, and becoming your President of Education is the way I'm going to do it.
