Currently there is no hot water facilities (or kettles) available for student use. The University now charge 35p for a cup of hot water and Starbucks in Eats (HUU) no longer provide hot water all. I understand that this is to encourage students to purchase drinks on campus but this is costly and time consuming. If students could have access to a hot water machine (such as the one in the library cafe) this would save students money. It would also mean that they can make hot food such as porridge and noodles which are currently sold in the Spar shop but are not able to be consumed on campus due to a lack of facilities. One could be ideally placed in the union near the microwaves.
